It's a bit misleading to call something that lasts for nearly a month a "week," but that's how Restaurant Week has been branded and branding is for life. The dining deals begin today at nearly 350 restaurants participating in Manhattan, Queens and Brooklyn, offering three course meals for less than a typical trip might run you. If you don't mind making do with whatever the restaurant puts on the prix fixe, it can be a great way to sample some pricier joints before committing to the full experience.

Some of the bigger names only offer the $25 prix fixe lunch—including Casa Mono, A Voce, Ai Fiori, Little Park, Narcissa and HanGwai—but many and more are offering a Sunday brunch/lunch plus weeknight dinner and Sunday supper for $38. Chris Jaeckle's Union Square hotspot All'Onda is offering all meals, as is DBGB Kitchen and Bar, Kefi and The Writing Room. Most of the restaurants are in Manhattan, but Water's Edge in LIC; Cheery Izakaya in Williamsburg; Saul in Prospect Heights; and Benchmark Restaurant in Park Slope are holding down the outer boroughs.

The specials begin today, February 16th, and run through March 6th; check out the full array of participating eateries, many of which have posted their Restaurant Week menus online. It's worth noting that you can search by neighborhood, so if you're blessed to A) work in Manhattan and b) have a long lunch break, that's an easy way to grab an extravagant lunch for just a few bucks.
