Even before it was "cool," Brooklyn had a lot of Chinese restaurants going for it. And now it has another. The Brooklyn Wok Shop aims to bring your traditional Chinese favorites into the age of hormone- and antibiotic-free meats. So naturally, it is in Williamsburg.

The restaurant's menu (below) is short and to the point. You want chicken with broccoli? They got it—they even have a gluten free version to boot. Wonton Soup? Check—with two types of noodles on hand to go with. Orange beef? Check. Roast pork buns? Oh yeah. Everything is priced pretty reasonably (apps are $4-$6 and mains are $9.50-$12) and taste as you would expect them to—but with a touch less of that MSG flavor.

Everything is available for takeout, but the restaurant itself—lots of hard wood and a batch beautiful bowls lining one walls—isn't a bad place to sit and slurp if you've got the time.
