Imagine you're a successful Brooklyn restaurateur, involved in 11 businesses over the past 13 years, including the recently-opened Cubana Socíal in Williamsburg and No Name Bar in Greenpoint. Imagine you've wondered all your life who your father is, and are finally on the cusp of finding out. And imagine that that person turned out to be none other than Ted Nugent.

That's what happened to Ted Mann, who discovered last October that The Nuge, the gun-rights activist, reality TV show star, and former member of rock supergroup Damnocracy, was his biological father. “I was like, ‘The guy who kills everything?' It’s been overwhelming and awesome and confusing, I’m still acclimating to being a Nugent,” he told BrooklynBased. Even so, he was immediately initiated into the Nugent clan: "His first words to me were 'Hello, son.' Within an hour of knowing him, he said, 'Let's go shoot some guns,' Mann told the News.

Mann, a Bay Ridge native, currently has a hand in Bar 4, Cebu, Apartment 138, Camp, Matchless, Public Assembly, Lone Wolf, Cubana Socíal and No Name Bar, plus two more places due to open this year. Nugent, who has seven children in addition to Mann and his sister, had been open with his family about the fact that he had given two children up for adoption earlier in his life. The two are now planning a hunting trip for the end of March; it sounds like Mann will fit right into the family, as long as he doesn't suggest they start a band called "Savage Animal."

Below, you can see a clip of Nugent arguing passionately for gun rights, and calling Hillary Clinton part of a "gaggle of numbnuts": "Let's just pretend this guy name Ted Nugent parachuted onto Earth and woke up one morning and saw these wonderful resources and had dreams of excellence and being the best that I can be. I don't need a document, and I don't need another man to explain to me that I have the right to defend my gift of life."
