Skip the bodega next time you want to buy beer because there's an easy way to score free brewskies: steal a beer truck! Those fume belching trucks idling in the bike lane are ripe for the taking, discovered one bold robber, who casually motored away with a Heineken beer truck while the driver was making a delivery.
On Monday afternoon, a 51-year-old driver and his partner were dropping off some suds at Pinch Food Design catering company on West 27th and left their truck unattended for about 10 minutes. During that time, the crook got into the truck and found the keys, which the driver had conveniently "hidden" under the driver's seat.
Surveillance video caught the truck heading into The Bronx about an hour later but there's been no trace of it since. Inside were 11 kegs, three 24-can packs of Heineken and three cases of Georgi Vodka. Somewhere north of Manhattan, a killer party rages.
