SPOILER ALERT: There is a rather repulsive photo of what appears to be an animal toe below. If that kind of thing makes you squeamish, then scroll very carefully. (Or if that's what you're into, by all means skip ahead.) But don't blame us if your lunch is ruined; we didn't put the toe in the Sabra Spinach Artichoke dip that Andrew Brodsky bought at the Upper East Side Fairway at the end of September. Brodsky, 35, is now suing Sabra and Fairway over the unwanted garnish, which he discovered when it was on his tongue.

"It's been pretty traumatic for him," Brodsky's attorney Michael Schlesinger tells us. "The nail of the specimen touched his tongue and he had the thing in his mouth. And it's totally, physically sickening to him." Schlesinger says that before filing the lawsuit, he reached out to Sabra to invite the company to come and inspect the specimen. "Sabra had no interest in working with us," the attorney says.

Since discovering the toe, Brodsky's whole life has been turned upside down. "He's totally changed the way he eats," says Schlesinger. "He's no longer eating packaged foods, and can only eat fresh produce and fresh foods. The sight of seeing someone else eating any packaged food makes him physically nauseous." Fortunately for him, there are plenty of opportunities to dine in the dark in NYC.

The lawsuit, which names Sabra and Fairway, seeks unspecified damages. Sabra has declined to comment, and this morning we asked a Fairway manager about the toe. He declined to give his name, but told us, "No idea, never heard anything about it." Still, the question remains: WHOSE TOE WAS IT? Without any further ado, ladies and gentlemen, the toe:

Pretty tantalizing, right? Here's a little something to cleanse the palate:
