Hell's Kitchen mainstay Smith's Bar has been granted a new lease on life thanks to Skip Panettiere, who happens to have spawned Nashville and Heroes star Hayden Panettiere. The 60-year-old dive was purchased by Panettiere back in November, reports DNAinfo, following the bar's closure in October over "lease issues."

There'll be a few changes once it reopens, like a new food program—including chili, meatballs and maybe a truffle burger—plus new TVs and an updated keg line. The retired fire fighter says his daughter may even pop in for a song or two when she's not too busy being a new mom.

But for the most part, Panettiere plans to "keep it just the same so everything in New York doesn't get ruined." The neon sign has been restored and Panettiere hopes to bring back some of the longtime staffers. Save the bar, save the world.
