Radiohead and their dedicated fans took the Holland Tunnel to Newark's Prudential Center for their only two NYC-area shows scheduled this year Thursday and Friday. Thom Yorke and his bouncing ponytail were certainly appreciative: "Thanks for coming all the way out here...Wherever this may be” he told the crowd the first night. Despite some overly eager Instagram-snappers and technical difficulties on "Idioteque" (which caused Thom to leave the stage bit early in frustration), the shows were exciting and excellent—what else would you expect from a Radiohead show?
Highlights included the tour premiere of Hail To The Thief gem "Go To Sleep" (played for the first time since 2004—watch it above), the interlocking vocals of brand new song "Identikit," an Occupy Wall Street shoutout during "The Daily Mail," and classics such as "Karma Police," "Paranoid Android," "You And Whose Army" and "Pyramid Song." And of course, plenty of Yorke's patented wiggly dance movies.
For the first night, Yorke dedicated "Everything In It's Right Place" to Adam Yauch; on the second night, he played a snippet of "The One I Love" before going into it, a nod to REM frontman Michael Stipe who was reportedly in the crowd. You can see both night's setlists at the bottom. And thanks to YouTube user allbears (and a few others), you can watch almost the entire Saturday night show below, including "Lotus Flower," "There There," "Nude," "Paranoid Android," "15 Step," "Myxomatosis," "Feral," "You And Whose Army," "Kid A," "Separator," "Staircase," "Supercollider" and "How To Disappear Completely."
