Charles Barkely made his third appearance hosting Saturday Night Live, and in various skits made fun of Shaquille O'Neal and White People Problems—and even wore a dress. In his monologue, Barkely also mentioned his 38-pound weight loss, "The point is, Weight Watchers worked for me. I feel great. Except for one thing. I am so hungry. I am starving. So please forgive me if I eat one of you." Other highlights include the cold opening about Rick Santorum and a hilarious spoof of the distressing Chantix commercials.
Kelly Clarkson was the musical guest—no mention of her support of Ron Paul or his avid supporters, though.
