You know when Jay-Z plays at Carnegie Hall and Björk plays at the New York Hall of Science... you're living in the right city. The former happened last night, at Jay-Z's first performance since the birth of his daughter Blue Ivy. He'll perform at the venue again tonight, and proceeds from the shows are going towards the United Way of New York City and The Shawn Carter Scholarship Foundation.

At last night's show, the WSJ reports he "was accompanied by a 45-person orchestra led by conductor Jeri Lynn Johnson and anchored by Questlove from The Roots on drums." They note that even Liza Minneli was in the audience! And yes, he played "Glory," the song for his daughter, announcing it with a cue to the audience: “One hand in the air for Blue."
