Saturday Night Live returned after its winter break last night with host Jennifer Lawrence—unfortunately, despite some surreal and welcome moments, the writing wasn't really that good in this episode. Things started off well enough with the cold open, in which SNL got to hit all the big targets from the past week, including Lance Armstrong, Manti Te'o and Jodie Foster. But things were much more miss than hit after that, with all the decent sketches coming toward the end of the show (as is becoming the SNL norm).

There were some highlights though, including a visit by secondhand news guy Anthony Crispino on Weekend Update, an expanded 18-part version of The Hobbit, radio host Karen "MC Jigglebutt," and an incredibly surreal and funny European porn parody "Danielle: A Free European Woman." Click through for all those sketches, plus a take-home Starbucks machine, a post-Hunger Games press conference, Top Dog Chef, performance by The Lumineers (that band from the Blue Moon commercial!), and more.
