As the city prepares to disappear under a heavy blanket of snow, let's take a look back at one hot July day in 1990. This 3-minute video mostly takes place in (a Pre-Giuliani) Times Square, and features an overheating car, a protest, a lot of amazing clothes, a squeegee man, and finally—over in Central Park—a Moment of Zen with the famously depressed, and now deceased, Gus the polar bear.
