Noted Evangelical and 80's masturbation aid Kirk Cameron recently went on Piers Morgan's show to discuss gay marriage and sensed a trap. "I feel like I just got imported to the Christine O'Donnell interview you did back in August." Oh, please, Kirk. Just relax, take a deep breath, and say something breathtakingly ignorant and reprehensible about homosexuality: “I think that it’s unnatural. I think that it’s detrimental, and ultimately destructive to so many of the foundations of civilization.” Funny, because that was Jesus' review of Growing Pains.*

GLADD's Senior Director of Programs, Herndon Graddick, responded to Cameron's comments in a release:

In this interview, Kirk Cameron sounds even more dated than his 1980s TV character...With an increasing number of states recognizing marriage equality, Americans are seeing that marriage is about committed couples who want to make a lifelong promise to take care of and be responsible for each other and that gay and lesbian couples need equal security and legal protections. That’s not ‘redefining’ anything.

Cameron's gonna need a few more Sweet Onion Chicken Teriyakis to ride out this PR storm. Hopefully he'll continue his tireless work to educate us on "The Fallaway Rate." And that Piers Morgan looks like a backslider to us.
