The Daily Show has been going through some serious (audience shedding) growing pains since Trevor Noah took over last fall. But thankfully, the show still has Jessica Williams, who has continued to produce great segment after great segment. Last night, she sat down to talk to homophobic Harlem preacher Dr. James David Manning about facing foreclosure and the imminent loss of his church.
And what is Manning most upset about? The "sodomites" who have invaded the neighborhood ("A lot of them came up looking for 'black meat'") and are now trying to buy the church. After Manning discussed Starbucks semen latte and gay conspiracy theories, Williams talked to one of the people hoping to buy the church, the director of the Ali Forney Center, one of the largest LGBTQ homeless youth agencies in the country.
Manning, who has been interviewed on the show twice before (in 2009 and 2015), apparently isn't too worried about losing the church because...something something butt baby births: "Before this church is foreclosed on, sodomites will carry babies in their testicles for nine months, and then gestate them out of their assholes before this church is closed," he explained. "If it's possible for that to happen, then it's possible for this church to close."
