Brooklyn has many monuments regular folk don't get invited into on a regular basis—and of those, the Domino Sugar plant that anchors the endangered Brooklyn Industrial waterfront looms large. Though it is eventually going to go residential, the area remains out of reach for most of us for now (most of the time). Unless of course you are willing to climb some fences:

Yup, for the last of their Undercity explorations, Steve Duncan and Andrew Wonder didn't so much go underground as they went over a fence in order to explore the industrial waterfront before it goes away for good (going underground there would apparently be akin to "huffing glue"). Soon enough, all that will remain of the area are some building shells with truly spectacular views.

Still, can't get enough of the area's industrial aesthetic? Well, here's a tour we did of the Plant during daylight hours in 2010, here's an awesome photoset exploring the area and here's a fun video of the plant from way back in 2006:

Finally, if you want more Undercity adventures, we've got sewers, more sewers, abandoned subway stations, the old Second Avenue Subway tunnels, the Amtrak Freedom Tunnel, and a nighttime trip to the top of the Williamsburg Bridge for your vicarious enjoyment all just a click away.
