Tracy Morgan, the 30 Rock star with a history of controversy, collapsed at a Sundance Film Festival event and was taken to a hospital last night. According to TMZ, he was "being honored at the Creative Coalition Spotlight Awards in Park City, Utah -- and sources tell TMZ, he appeared extremely intoxicated during his award acceptance speech."
The Hollywood Reporter adds that its sources say "Morgan seemed out of control, yelling and falling onto the ground. Morgan briefly walked the red carpet before the event, but gave no interviews." He was reportedly escorted out of the event, where he fell unconscious and collapsed, leading security to call for an ambulance.
His rep, though, said that due to a "combination of exhaustion and altitude, Tracy is seeking medical attention... He is with his fiancée [Megan Wallover] and grateful to the Park City Medical Center for their care. Any reports of Tracy consuming alcohol are 100% false." The hospital's spokesperson essentially confirmed that rep's statement, saying no drugs or alcohol were detected in his system. Cuba Gooding Jr. told ABC News, "He’s alright, he’s fine."
Morgan has diabetes and received a kidney transplant over a year ago. His fish tanks also have a tendency to catch fire.
