Les Misérables is a story of hope, passion, and above all, love. This “Hearts Full of Love” series explores the power of unconditional love with the Broadway cast as they share their insight on love through the eyes of their characters and reveal personal love stories of their own. This week, Ramin opens up about how fatherhood and unconditional love for his children changed his life and ambitions forever. Ramin leads the cast as the show’s protagonist, Jean Valjean, who becomes a father while on the road to redemption.

"Fatherhood changes your perceptions. The effort you put into your ambitions. The way you want to stack your cards in life. It all changes because there’s other people to think about now. For me, being a father took time. When I first saw my kid, right away there was a sense of ‘I’ll do anything for you’ but I didn’t understand it since I was a young father. As I’m in my thirties now, I understand how valuable time is for a relationship—not just providing. Now, my decisions for the future are built around how something will affect my kids and benefit ‘the team’ as I call it. It’s not about me anymore."
