Photographer Kishin Shinoyama took a series of photos of John Lennon and Yoko Ono over the course of five days, just a couple of months before the musician's death. In September 1980, the trio walked around New York trying to capture the perfect image for the cover of Double Fantasy, and now the outtakes—which include intimate shots from inside their Dakota apartment—have been included in a limited edition book being sold for $700.
"Limited to a total of 1,980 numbered copies signed by Yoko Ono and Kishin Shinoyama, this book is available as Collector’s Edition (No. 251-1,980), and also in two Art Editions of 125 copies each, with a pigment print signed by Kishin Shinoyama."

According to Vanity Fair, Shinoyama and Ono will release their collaborative book later this month, which will feature "never-before-seen photographs from September 1980... which provide an intimate, in-depth look into the couple’s creative process." The photographer told them, “When I look back at the photos from that time, I believe I was recording them at their happiest."
