Put on your Mithril and grip your Glamdring young hobbits: the epic Lord Of The Rings film trilogy is coming back to theaters across the country this summer, featuring nearly an hour of additional footage per film. It's just like Gandalf always said: a remastered extended edition cinema showing of the entire Lord Of The Rings trilogy is never late, Frodo Baggins. Nor is it early. It arrives precisely when Peter Jackson means for it to.
While Jackson will be busy filming that other, possibly cursed, Tolkien classic The Hobbit in New Zealand, the original trilogy will be coming to nearly 500 movie theaters nationwide in June, over the course of three weeks. Of course, one does not simply walk into a cinema, expecting to see the films: The Fellowship of the Rings will play on June 14 at 7 p.m., The Two Towers on June 21 at 7 p.m., and The Return of The King on June 28 at 7 p.m. Here are the participating theaters in NY and NJ:

Best of all, this will be the perfect opportunity to remember why Rivendell is totally awesome, and why Hogwarts is totally lame:
