On Halloween night, Alex & Leo Entertainment, Inc. hosted a party at Tavern on the Green. Tickets were anywhere from $60 to $130, with around 5,000 revelers doling out their hard earned cash for the extravaganza (which promised an open bar and buffet). After an overcrowding problem due to alleged scalped tickets, however, the party only ran for 90 minutes, after guests waited 3 hours to get in. When word hit the press, the company promised refunds.
Now, months later, no one has seen a dime from Alex & Leo. Eater has an update today, stating, "it's become evident that thousands of customers who had their Halloween ruined are not going to be refunded any portion of their money. Adding insult to injury, it seems the same promoters continue to shamelessly bombard their email lists with invitations to other events without a whisper of a freebie." Tavern's publicist tells us, "I think it's incredibly unfortunate that Tavern on the Green was tainted by this situation in its waning days. And disgraceful that the people in charge of the event have apparently not honored their pledge to reimburse ticketholders." Alex & Leo remain MIA.
