"Sleeping in museums" is the new "leaving museums promptly at closing time," though the Rubin has been ahead of the game for years, and will next month host its fifth annual Dream Over.

Inner children everywhere lost their shit last year when the American Museum of Natural History debuted its adult-sleepover, prompting the boards of other museums around the country to wonder just how much brisk business they could do by offering a similar experience in their own galleries.

The Rubin might not have a life-sized blue whale dangling above its overnight guests, but it does have a vast collection of art to offer a soothing, if not quite so grand, backdrop for a fitful night's sleep. The "Dream Over," to be held from May 30 to 31, will feature a nighttime discussion on the significance of dreaming between Khenpo Lama Pema Wangdak, a longtime teacher of Tibetan Buddhism in New York, and dream facilitator Dr. William Braun of the New York Psychoanalytic Society.

In the morning, attendees will have the chance to discuss their dreams (or nightmares!) with on site "Dream Gatherers" before enjoying a light breakfast and finally getting the hell out.

Tickets for the sleep-over will go on sale Thursday at 11 a.m., and cost $125 for a single ticket, $250 for a "couple's ticket." (Meaning only that you and your SO will bed down under the same piece of art, not that you'll be treated to your own sound-proof Sex Fortress. Sorry.)

Members pay $112.50 and $225 for each, respectively.

Guests are expected to bring their own bedding, and are not allowed to bring drugs or alcohol onto the premises. For more information on the details of the Dream Over, click here.

Those too cheap to finance an actual night at the museum can get a pretty good idea of what the event entails by watching this video:
