It's clear skies out there, so the Space Shuttle Enterprise will finally be able to make its final journey up the Hudson River today, eventually arriving at its new home: the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum. This means another photo op! Here's where you'll be able to check out the ol' gal.
The shuttle left New Jersey at 10:15 a.m., and will pass the Statue of Liberty around 10:50 a.m., then the World Trade Center at 11:40 a.m., finally arriving at the Intrepid at 12:30 p.m. After that, the shuttle will lifted by a crane onto the flight deck and put into position facing the Hudson River. This process will take about three hours... and here's hoping it all goes smoothly!
If you spot the shuttle, you can send us your photos at [email protected], or hashtag them #Gothamist and #Enterprise on Instagram, or tag them "Gothamist" and "Enterprise" on Flickr. And if you're stuck inside, there's always the Intrepid's live cam!
