Pop quiz: You are a still-young but decidedly former starlet now more famous for your troubles than your talent, and last seen posing nude for Playboy, what do you do now? Is that really a question? Time for a Lifetime movie, baby! Especially if you can play former Hollywood royalty. Lindsay Lohan is in talks to play no less than Elizabeth Taylor in a made-for-basic-cable movie. Schadenfreude never felt so good.
Yup, Deadline reports and EW confirms that "the 25-year-old actress is in early talks for the female lead in Lifetime’s original movie Elizabeth & Richard: A Love Story, chronicling the enduring love of movie icons Taylor and Richard Burton, whose fiery romance was the most notorious, publicized and celebrated love affair of its day." Which, considering Taylor's own problems and early rise to fame... kind of makes sense? As much as all that Marilyn Monroe nonsense, at least.
The only thing that could make the idea of LiLo playing La Liz better is if they decide to expand the movie's premise and just make it a full-on, cheap-o biopic complete with hokey J. Edgar-style makeup and some dubious scenes from the late legend's life. Like, we don't know, that time she went on a post-9/11 road trip with Marlon Brando and Michael Jackson? We would totally TiVo that.
