From "Wannabe" to Britain's international fashion envoy: Today, Victoria Beckham was announced as an ambassador to help promote the fashion industry for Great Britain's "GREAT" campaign. The fashion designer, who is also known as Posh, was joined by Anna Wintour and Hamish Bowles of Vogue, Georgina Chapman of Marchesa, Marcus Wainwright of Rag & Bone, and the actual ambassador, Sir Peter Westmacott, on the subway shuttle platform of Grand Central, where their underground invasion was made complete with the shuttle cars wrapped in the Union Jack.

Seemingly unfazed by the occasional rat to weave through the forest of Louboutins, Wintour giggled along with her fellow fashion elites on the subway platform while Beckham channeled dour elegance. Before the press was allowed to shoot, famed fashion photographer Patrick Demarchelier demanded silence as he snapped the official photos for Vogue.

Per a press release, "British fashion is a hugely important global industry and our designers have talent creativity and skills to rival anywhere in the world," said British Prime Minister David Cameron. And apparently U.S. tourism is the U.K.'s "most important market in terms of visitor spend"—the tourist lanes in London are a big hit!
