Top 10 NYC Pieces That Could Be By Banksy, But Aren't

This piece in Gowanus is by Dolk- his style is similar to Banksy, in that he uses stencils and paint, but you can see his signature in the lower right corner.

Another piece by Dolk, in Williamsburg. It's unsigned, but you can tell he did it by the way the bucket looks.

Another Dolk, in Bed-Stuy. Note it's only a single-layered stencil and there's no real sense of humor or playfulness in it- Banksy isn't usually so serious.

This is actually a copy of a Banksy piece, on a wall in Williamsburg, but it's not complete, and not original.

Another Dolk- this on in East Williamsburg. Again, it's larger than a typical Banksy, and doesn't have the humor.

This is a piece by Philadelphia artist Stikman, doing a riff on a Banksy rat. You can see his eponymous character being held by the rat.

This piece, in Dumbo, is about Banksy but not by him. It does have his tag, but from the overspray by the B and the general simplicity, you can tell it's not original.

This piece does have a Banksyish sense of humor, but it's too small, and he wouldn't do the white spray around the edges like that.

A Nick Walker piece in meatpacking- his pieces mostly feature men hin bowler hats- but sometimes rats- possibly a commentary on Banksy. His signature is in the lower right.

This piece is actually a mystery. It is vaguely Banksyish, and some of the Banksy authorities in town have pronounced it genuine. But others have said that the feet look too good (Banksy usually doesn't do a great job with feet), and the paint splashes seem more MBW or Nick Walker than Banksy. We'll have to reserve judgment until Banksy claims credit for the NYC pieces on his own site.
