The grand stairs in front of the Post Office- these used to face the old Penn Station across the street. The Post Office was located here to be close to the trains which carried a lot of the mail.

A corridor in the Post Office Police section of the building- just above and behind the main Post Office room. Most of the building, including this section, has been abandoned for years.

One of the seemingly endless hallways in the building- if the station is built, at some point the enormous number of offices will once again be rented out, or used for another function- perhaps a hotel or conference center.

Another long hallway- imagine how spooky it would be walking around here at night.

A hallway, and looking up one of the many pretty staircases in the building.

The central atrium of the Post Office will be raised, and covered with glass to create an enormous public space, like the main room at Grand Central.

There are several enormous open floors where mail used to be sorted. Walkways snake around the roof of the room- Postal Police would walk inside the walkways to monitor the employees who were working on the mail.

Another shot of one of the open floors.

The building is surprisingly clean for a space that hasn't been used in a while.

Stairway on the first floor of the Post Office- this area will be demolished.

This area of the building will be demolished to create a large open hall for the station.
