Joss Whedon brought Buffy The Vampire Slayer from the big screen to the small screen, and it's all available on Netflix Instant Watch. Every bloody second of it.

Buffy The Vampire Slayer (The Television Series)Lately we've been fully immersed in Buffy The Vampire Slayer (the television series), which was originally on the air from 1997 to 2003, spanned 7 seasons, and delivered 144 episodes. The entire series is on Netflix Instant Watch, and we highly recommend it... really! We were apprehensive at first but after many recommendations, a bout with a bad cold/plenty of time for TV, and a pre-existing undeniable appreciation for the work of Joss Whedon, we gave in.The series may include, at times, some pretty B-movie quality monsters, but it's all part of the funâand the characters and dialogue are enough to make up for the sometimes plastic-masked goblins. And if the show doesn't grab you at first, it's worth sticking it out, having just watched the famous "Hush" episode this week, we can attest to the fact that this show gets better with each season (well, at least until season four, which is where we're at currentlyâno spoilers please!). Though be warned, Sarah Michelle Gellar's fighting skills on the show (she studied Tae Kwon Do, kickboxing, boxing, street fighting and gymnastics) might make you fantasize about roundhouse kicking some unsavory straphangers on your evening commutes.
Buffy The Vampire Slayer (The Movie)The 1992 movie Buffy The Vampire Slayer is also on Netflix Instant Watch, should you want to go back to the roots of the phenomena. The script was also written by Joss Whedon, and stars Kristy Swanson as the Slayer, and Luke Perry (Dylan!) as her romantic interest. This is definitely a more campy take on Buffy than the television show that came later, but who doesn't love campy horror flicks? Get a taste with a look at the original trailer:

More movies will be dropping their Instant Watch status this week, so if you ever wanted to watch The Proposal, do it now! The Sandra Bullock/Ryan Reynolds rom-com will be departing tomorrow, along with The Jerk. And leaving on Friday is It Might Get Loud, Davis Guggenheim's profile of three contemporary guitarists: Jimmy Page of Led Zeppelin, U2's The Edge and Jack White of the White Stripes.
