Let's start our tour at 30th Street. Here you can see the famous "spur" which sticks out East of the High Line- it has yet to be developed and is still covered in the native NYC shrubbery that ruled the line for decades. Development on the spur and the rest of the line above the West Side Railyards is planned in Stage 3.

This is the intersection of the High Line Stage 2, and the undeveloped Stage 3 area. Note the lovely block of benches on the left, and the glass elevator in the center of the shot.

Looking south from 29th Street. Some have complained this northern section of Stage 2 doesn't have the elaborate gardening and architectural features you'll see further south on the line. It is pretty much a straight shot down to the fly-over section, which we'll see in the next image.

This is the "fly-over", a section of walkway that's elevated above the gardening below. It's nicely placed between two very tall buildings.

A closeup of the flyover- note the benches in these short seating areas jutting off the line. Much of the planting looks complete.

This is the famous High Line lawn area, above 23rd Street. A nice place for a picnic!

This is the entrance to the 23rd Street stairs- like the other High Line entrances and exits, it's very high tech- all glass and metal.

A final view of Stage 2 looking north from 23rd Street- here you can see the other type of benches (mounted on concrete), and the way the path swerves more elaborately than it does further north on the line.
