Earlier this week, we noted that despite the fact Niagara Falls almost never freezes over entirely (it hasn't totally done so since the 1840s), it does regularly partially-freeze in winter. And when it does so, people flock to the area to gaze at the beautiful icy vistas it produces.
"I come here every winter but this is the most magnificent," visitor Heather Ferrara told AP yesterday. While it might be somewhat unlikely for you to hop in a cab and get to Prospect Point this afternoon, you can still enjoy the sights with the photos above.

"It was a very cold shoot, but we were very careful to keep flight times to a minimum and to keep my hands as warm as possible to maintain full control and stay safe during the flight," he told Slate. "I personally have never seen Niagara Falls frozen like that before. It was spectacular to capture."
