Times Square during its transitional hour just around 5 a.m. is a strange scene, when one of the busiest places on earth takes a pause and momentarily presents as empty and quiet. This movement from a state of chaos into total stillness is even more jarring in the early morning hours of New Year's Day, when crowds of NYE revelers have departed and left a colorful mess behind.
