Man on wire and prankster extraordinaire Phillipe Petit (you may remember him as the man who walked between the Twin Towers on a tightrope in 1974, or who taught us to wire walk last summer) is putting two feet on the ground this weekend for his one-man show at the Abrons Art Center, Wireless! (exclamation point Petit's).
During the mostly improvised show, Petit will discuss his long and illustrious career, which includes stints as a street juggler, pickpocket, writer, barn builder, bullfighter, and engineer, as well as how he learned magic, juggling and wire-walking. The New York Times raves about Petit's act, saying "It’s not an easy show to describe, he said, nor should it be," and says he's aiming for Broadway or a tour. Tickets for the four-night engagement are available here, but audience members are warned that Petit has a habit of pickpocketing those around him, so perhaps front-row seats aren't the best in the house.
