Last week, we heard devastating rumors that MTV planned to fire the original Guido/Guidette crew we've come to know and love over the past four seasons of Jersey Shore. But today, veteran Shorer Pauly D says he isn't worried about losing his job.
"I think we're irreplaceable. I don't think they could replace us. They'd just be people trying to be like us, anyway," D told People magazine. MTV has denied the rumors, saying they have "no plans to recast the show," which starts shooting season five today in New Jersey. But if they did, they'd be saving big money—MSNBC says the current cast earns $100,000 per episode, which is enough to buy approximately 25,000 bottles of hair gel.
But even Pauly knows that not all that glitters is gold: "I'll do as many Jersey Shore's as we can," he said, "but I know everything doesn't last forever." Good thing he—and Snooki and J-Woww—are all set for their spinoffs next year.
