It is brrrrisk outside today, but soon we'll be complaining about the humidity as we stand sweating outside during the most glorious time of the year here in New York: Outdoor Concert Season. The largest summer-long series, which sweeps across all five boroughs, is Summerstage, and they've just announced their lineup.

This is their 30th season, which runs from May 18th through October 4th, and will hit 14 parks when all is said and sung. The City Parks Foundation, which is the independent nonprofit organization that produces the festival, has a big season planned, with "more shows in Central Park and 15% growth in the number of performances offered in neighborhood parks around the city, creating 6-day "mini-festivals" in 8 parks, featuring music, dance, theater, film, circus and family days. In total this new model will add over 20 performances to the fourteen parks SummerStage presents in, bringing more than 140 unique artists to these stages around the city."

This year will kick off with a free concert in Central Park featuring the Tedeschi Trucks Band. You can check out the full schedule here. These are all free, except for the benefit shows, which will feature Ingrid Michaelson, Mastadon, The Kooks, Dawes, and Father John Misty.

Note to anyone with power: Bring back The National!
