Darren Starr’s Sex in the City like Cashmere Mafia was set to debut at the end of November, but was put off due to the writers' strike. So don’t get too attached to this series, since there appears to be only seven episodes produced of the 13 ordered.
Still it beats NBC’s similar Lipstick Jungle to air, which seems not to have a launch date announced yet. On its surface the show looks like a bit more multicultural version of the hit HBO show, but we can only wonder if the broadcast network content restrictions will handicap the show.
The normal time slot for the show will be Tuesdays at 10 (WABC 7) but the network is rolling out the pilot tonight at 10, then repeating Tuesday at 10 p.m Then the second episode will follow in the normal time slot on Wednesday at 10.
Also of note this week:
One Tree Hill (Tuesday, 8:00 p.m., WPIX 11) In an interesting move this teen soap fasts forwards few years which sort of makes sense given the age of the show’s actors.
Frontline: The Medicated Child (Tuesday, 9:00 p.m., WNET 13) A look at the impact of giving kids prescription drugs to control behavior.
Law & Order: Criminal Intent (Wednesday, 9:00 p.m., WNBC 4) If you forgot to watch this show in its first run on USA, now is the chance to watch. It is followed by a new episode of the original Law & Order at 10 p.m.
