The latest rumors include Anna Faris, Eliza Dushku and Bill Murray on board for the third installment.

Last we heard (in February, to be exact), Bill Murray didn't seem too amped about this whole Ghostbusters III thing, saying, "There's a script somewhere [on my desk], but I haven't read it yet. I feel bad. You know, the studio gets excited every 10 years or so. What they'd really like to do is recreate the franchise. I remember when the new Ghostbusters was going to be Chris Rock, Chris Farley and... someone." Other more recent rumors have included Seth Rogan and Paul Rudd being attached to it, and Judd Apatow being involved. And now, the rumor mill spits this out: filming is starting next month... in Chicago!

The AV/Club says, "Harold Ramis and Dan Aykroyd will reprise their original roles, and Ivan Reitman will direct. Anna Faris is also said to be on board as a young Ghostbuster, as is Eliza Dushku, according to also claims that Bill Murray will star in the film, which is allegedly due out around Christmas 2012.

The reports seem to be mostly based on this, which the AV/Club admits is not super reliable. Last year Chicagoist knocked down rumors that the movie would be filmed there, noting, "Ghostbusters was always a definitively New York City-oriented franchise." If the rumors of a new movie are true, they could potentially take over the famed firehouse for a while, since it may be shut down due to budget cuts.

UPDATE: AV/Club has now updated their post saying these latest rumors appear to just be ghosts of last November's rumors. Paging Bill Murray, have you even read the script yet?
