After they were spurned by Mitt "Mean Streak" Romney, SNL got Rolling Stones frontman and "tiny todger" Mick Jagger to do double duty as host and musical guest for their season finale on May 19th. We wondered what Jagger might have planned for the musical portion without the Stones—but Entertainment Weekly reports that Jagger has recruited some no-name musicians to serve as his backing bands—who is this Arcade Fire, and what exactly is a Foo Fighter?
Overall, this makes us a lot less anxious about what Jagger might play—we were terrified that Joss Stone might come out for some Superheavy b-sides, or Lenny Kravitz might pop up for some Standing In The Doorway deep tracks. Now we imagine we're in store for some classic Stones hits—in the past, Arcade Fire has covered "The Last Time" (watch it below). The Foo Fighters have never covered the Stones as far as we know, though they have covered Arcade Fire's "Keep The Car Running."
