For over a decade Yankees closing pitcher Mariano Rivera has walked to the mound with the sound of Metallica's "Enter Sandman" echoing throughout the stadium, and now Metallica will be performing it there live.

Unfortunately, this doesn't mean Yankee Stadium is getting a house band, but rather, the group will be playing a concert there on September 14th. In a video, frontman James Hetfield said: “Hold on, Mo. Hey Yankee fans, this is James here from Metallica. And we know that 'Enter Sandman’ over the last decade has been played here in the Bronx because of No. 42. Now is your chance to hear it live, here, in your house."

Rivera didn't actually choose his entrance music, reportedly he had no preference and left it up to director of scoreboard operations Joe Pullia.

Did we mention that joining Metallica at the Big 4 concert will be Slayer, Megadeth and Anthrax? That's a lot of testosterone for one place, even if it is a sports place. Get yer beertickets here.
