The Carrie Diaries, a prequel series to Sex and the City, is happening, whether we want it or not. It will be airing on the CW, and they just casted a young Carrie Bradshaw (not taking any of our suggestions).
According to NY Mag, 18-year-old AnnaSophia Robb—you may know her as Violet Beuregarde from the Johnny Depp-era Charlie and the Chocolate Factory—will be filling Sarah Jessica Parker's Manolos.
Somewhat surprisingly, American Horror Story director Miguel Arteta is set to direct the show, while Gossip Girl's Stephanie Savage and Josh Schwartz are executive producing. The series will show us a teenaged Carrie in 1980s Manhattan—so that should be interesting.
