Over 30 years after John Lennon was murdered and he's still being sold off bit by bit. The latest piece of Lennon memorabilia to be sold at auction was the white two-piece suit he wore on the cover of the Beatles album Abbey Road. The piece was sold to an anonymous bidder at an auction in Connecticut over the weekend, and went for $46,000. That's cool and all, but personally we think the real winner was Hank Gioiella, who paid just $5,500 for the green 1972 Chrysler station wagon Lennon and Yoko Ono owned.
According to this website, the car (more photos here) is "essentially in the same condition it likely was when John and Yoko owned it and the seller still has the original New York State title and registration documents. The car was registered to Apple Records and was said to have been John’s favorite automobile because its practicality and modesty allowed him to travel virtually unrecognized." It is said to have been used primarily for city travel and rides between their Manhattan apartment and Long Island estate.
