As we've seen by now, getting bombed is just part of the natural life-cycle of whatever Houston Street mural is up at the moment. But EV Grieve noticed that Kenny Scharf's new mural is getting some special treatment.
After getting bombed twice in the past month, someone has set up surveillance cameras around the mural, though it's unclear if they're actually hooked up to anything. Though it's not like security guards have ever been much help. Scharf recently responded to AnimalNY about the bombing, writing, "its an act of violence and aggression and it really does hurt but i know that doing public art you set yourself up for that. i did the mural purely out of love, i didnt and dont get paid to paint walls. i dont believe in hurting someone especially someone you dont even know. if the tags on top of my painting were meant to hurt me well they did."
