Yesterday was the incredibly vibrant, joyful and really messy Hindu celebration Phagwah (also known as Holi), and the crowd in Richmond Hill was ready with tons of dye and baby powder.

The celebration occurs every Spring on the Sunday after the first full moon of the Hindu calendar. Children and families spray each other with color—dyes and powders—to chase away the winter. And after this winter, Phagwah couldn't come soon enough!

First, there was a parade through Richmond Hill with dye-ing on the sidelines and then everyone gathered in Smokey Oval Park for the serious action.
