This is our youth, ladies and gentlemen—the swarms of shrieking young girls and their parents who were at Rockefeller Plaza to hear teen-and-tween dream Justin Bieber perform during the Today Show. One 14-year-old girl from Pennsylvania convinced her grandmother that she and a friend should camp out over night with the time-old tactic of flattery. Bailey Hosterman told the Daily News, "I told her how awesome it would be and that she would be the best grandma ever."
Grandmother Jeannie Walker took Bailey and her friend Connor Bryan, also 14, to New York on Wednesday and the girls slept on "inflatable pool floats" to be number one in line. Walker, however, stayed in a hotel, saying they kept in touch by phone, "I'm too old to sleep on the cement with a poncho... I didn't worry, everyone kept stopping to talk to them." New York is so safe! Of course, Bieber camp outs are nothing new.
Bailey explained her love for Justin Bieber while wearing a Justin Bieber shirt, "He's a really good singer, and he's amazingly cute. His hair is gorgeous." Bieber, who performed a number of songs including his hit "Baby" (OMG video after the jump), told Matt Lauer this morning, "I want to be an artist that doesn’t just come out with one song and they’re done. I want to have longevity, have my fans grow with me, and not just be a teen artist but kind of move up and be an adult artist." Good luck, kid.
Update: The creator of the Shaved Bieber app, which removes mentions of Bieber, is getting death threats. Those Bieber fans are SERIOUS.
