The four astronauts of the final space shuttle mission were greeted by R.E.M. front man Michael Stipe while on board Atlantis. From earth, Stipe sang them part of "Man On The Moon," acapella. He then told them:
"We wish you much success on your mission, and thank all of the women and men at NASA who have worked on shuttle for three decades. From earth: a very good morning to you."
Then it was straight into the studio version of the R.E.M. hit. Goose bumps! Sit back, have some astronaut ice cream, and enjoy:
