Check out these "Wanted for Murder" and "Missing" ads dotting newspaper boxes around the East Village. Is the Good Samaritan in you flushed with adrenaline? Simmer down now, the QR code in the bottom corner should be a nice tip-off that they're maybe not so legit.
Turns out that the signs, which East Village passerbys have referred to as alternately "sad" and "annoying," are part of a marketing campaign for a new indie film called "All God's Creatures," a "romantic thriller" set for release later this summer, about a man who's a mild-mannered barista by day, and vicious serial prostitute killer by night. Remember when Zodiac did pretty much the same thing a while back?
While the police in the area say they haven't received any calls from residents regarding the posters, the real crime here is how much of a rip-off of American Psycho this shoestring flick appears to be. Come on, guys, you need a decent budget (and a good chainsaw) to pull off a worthwhile hooker death scene!
