Amy Adams is going to get a chance to belt Broadway tunes in Central Park this summer. Again. The Public Theater has announced that the Enchanted star is going to be playing the Baker's Wife in the upcoming, and highly anticipated by us, Shakespeare in the Park revival of Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine's fairy tale classic Into the Woods. Suddenly the line "this is ridiculous, what am I doing here, I'm in the wrong story!" will have a whole extra layer.

The casting of Adams in a part originated by Joanna Gleason strikes us as pretty great. As she's shown in numerous movies, lady can act and sing and deliver a joke. Plus, she should fit into the rest of the announced cast better than a muffin in Red Riding Hood's mouth. For the record that cast is: Jack Broderick (Narrator), Gideon Glick (Jack), Cooper Grodin (Rapunzel’s Prince), Ivan Hernandez (Cinderella’s Prince/Wolf), Tina Johnson (Granny), Josh Lamon (Steward), Jessie Mueller (Cinderella), Laura Shoop (Cinderella’s Mother), and Tess Soltau (Rapunzel).

Still to be locked down? Nothing too important. Just Little Red Riding Hood, the Baker and the Witch. We'd still be totally fine if they can swing Modern Family's Jesse Tyler Ferguson. We know he wants it. And after all, when it comes to the Baker and his Wife, it takes two.

Meanwhile, let us not forget that Adams has sung in Central Park before:

Oh! And in other Shakespeare in the Park news, Robert Joy and Oliver Platt have been announced as part of the cast of the Shakespeare in the Park season's first show, As You Like It.
