New York City is great, but it's even better when you have unlimited funds... we hear. Just ask the 18 celebrities on the Forbes Celebrity 100 list that live in the city—together they earned over $872 million dollars in the past year.
Forbes notes that kind of cash can get you over 8 million unlimited Metrocards or 14 million copies of the Sunday New York Times, and they also say that if these money-grubbers shared the wealth, it would mean $1 million "per capita of NYC’s current population of 8.2 million—not bad for a city where the average household income is just under $40,000 and 21% live below the poverty line."
So who are these people who are making New York "the breeding ground for the biggest celebs on the planet"? 25-year-old Lady Gaga comes in at #1, followed by Howard Stern, Dick Wolf (Law & Order FTW), Jay-Z, A-Rod, Jennifer Lopez, and... apparently former Real Houswife of New York Bethenny Frankel is on her way to join them. Apocalypse indeed.
