Early this morning Courtney Love's West Village home was en fuego! According to CityRoom a fire broke out in Love's bedroom at 1:52 a.m. What could have started it? A lit cigarette? Incense? A scorching hot spoon? According to the FDNY it was an innocent lil' candle, which set fire to nearby curtains and possibly some bed linens, which were found burnt. They report that Love discovered the fire herself, though "a male occupant" was also at her home.
FDNY spokesman Frank Dwyer told us that they responded to the 4th floor fire within 3 minutes and 33 seconds, and "the fire was put out fairly quickly. There were drapes on fire in the bedroom. We treated one adult female with minor burns to the hand. She was not transported for her injuries and refused medical attention at the scene."
Love just moved into her new home in February, which she rents for $27,000 a month. Also, CityRoom gives the exact address (is that standard?), if you want to drop her off some new curtains.
