Back in June, the Brooklyn Bridge was tagged with "LEWY BTM". The offending spray paint was immediately buffed, but the police have been hunting for LEWY ever since. Yesterday, cops announced that they had arrested Enno Tianen for the defacement.

Two police officers from the Transit Bureau's Special Projects division were investigating the tagging and found that Tianen, 32, had been arrested for writing the same tag in other parts of the city. They charged him with criminal mischief, making graffiti, criminal trespass and possession of a graffiti instrument.

12 Oz. Prophet had noted that the iconic bridge is "one of the most legendary spots in the history of graffiti. It was first painted by Smith and Sane, who were famously wanted by the FBI for vandalizing the National Landmark."

In the late 1980s, Sace and Irak left a "Fuck you" with their tags.

The NYPD says that Tianen caused $8,000 in damages.
