We're quickly approaching the May 10th opening of Kara Walker's installation at the Domino Sugar Factory, and your hosts at Creative Time have just released this teaser video, perfectly soundtracked by Nina Simone's singing "I Want A Little Sugar In My Bowl."
The large-scale public project will be on display inside the sprawling factory through July 6th, and the installation will be free to visit (and open Fridays 4 to 8 p.m., and Saturdays and Sundays 12 to 6 p.m.). The artist's "physically and conceptually expansive work will respond to both the building and its history, exploring a radical range of subject matter and marking a major departure from her practice to date."
