Louis C.K. is riding his giant wave of money and acclaim from his brilliant self-produced stand up special to network TV. According to Hollywood Reporter, CBS has given the green light to the comedian and creator of the Soup Nazi Spike Feresten for a half-hour comedy pilot. There's no title yet but it will likely not feature the words "Pootie" or "Tang."
C.K. and Feresten wrote together for Letterman in the mid-90s, as well as SNL and The Dana Carvey Show, and created a pilot for NBC a decade ago called "Boomtown" that was never picked up. Feresten also had a late-night show on FOX from 2006 to 2009.
A huge reason why C.K.'s current show Louie is so amazing is that F/X ceded complete control to the comedian, and it's unclear (and unlikely) that CBS will be so generous. We're still holding out for his $8 million dollar movie made from the money that flows out of the money monster's asshole.
