When faced with the daunting task of buying a birthday present for a tiger cub, you may feel overwhelmed—would they really use a Waring blender? Have they seen Breaking Bad season 3 already? But when it comes to the Bronx Zoo's tiger cubs, no need to worry about which Stephen King novel to hastily giftwrap, since they can tell you exactly what these cubs really want: a delicious meatsicle! Or a knucklebone! Or...Calvin Klein Obsession!
The six Bronx Zoo cubs are turning one this summer (they grow up so fast!), and the Zoo has created a different kind of gift registry to celebrate the occasion. The zoo wants you to provide them with gifts - customized toys and treats which are part of the zoo’s enrichment program, designed to exercise the muscles and minds of the animals. And each tiger has a specific gift they like to play with: Josie likes munching on $10 knucklebones, Claiborne loves $25 frozen meatsicles, Pepino enjoys getting a meatball out of a $100 treat spinner, and Julian...loves to nuzzle musky men's cologne, especially $50 Calvin Klein Obsession.
The whole thing is pretty adorable (though the specificity of the Calvin Klein cologne is kinda odd), but even more adorable is watching the cubs play.
